About the customer:
The Department of Families and Commemoration in the Ministry of Defense is the political body responsible for commemorating victims of terrorism and wars, and for the welfare and rehabilitation of bereaved families. It is made up of social workers, welfare workers, and soldiers in the unit. The services provided to the bereaved families include dealing with the loss, various benefits, and commemorating the fallen.
About the project and the challenges:
The goal of the project was to encourage a culture of innovation so as to improve the likelihood of implementation success of future initiatives. The department wanted to take innovative products to new levels of quality and quantity. Following this, the goal of the Pop-up Accelerator was to build a structure that would enable the growth of innovative initiatives that come from the organization’s employees, and this with minimal resources.
The results of the process:
The results of the project were the successful development of an internal innovative system, keeping in mind the needs and limitations of the department. In the hackathon, sixteen finalist initiatives were presented to the executive council. At the event, three were selected as winners for implementation. Following the event, the department director decided to move forward with the implementation of all sixteen ventures due to their high quality.
